5.2 Future Recommendation

5.1 Future recommendation

1. Improvements on the recording of the radio waves as a live-feed as the recommended software (SSRT Robot) is unavailable. As of now, only the latest 3 days or 6h of the GOES X-ray flux’s charts can be viewed, which is inconvenient for detailed analysis.

2. A way to log and disseminate the data to the public can be devised.

3. Converting the amplifier circuit into a PCB board. This will allow for the distribution of the PCB board as an SSRT KIT to those who wish to construct their own SSRT or for educational purposes.

4. To improve the accuracy of the SSRT, various measures can be implemented. The lag time between the actual solar flares and the detection in the spike in signal can be calculated. Also, there might be other ionising celestial bodies that might cause the excess ionosation of the ionosphere, which might lead to spikes in signal strength, such as production of gamma rays by nearby black holes. These might affect any pattern observed in the radio waves recieved. With these factors taken into account, the credibility and accountability of the SSRT can be enhanced.

We also hope to make the SSRT a permanent fixture in our school where the solar x-ray flux charts will be uploaded onto the school website.
